The international art project “Flora” will now take place in autumn 2021 – the Russian and Austrian sides have determined the new dates for the performances.
The premiere is scheduled for 8 September 2021, with subsequent performances on 15, 22 and 29 September, 6, 13 and 20 October. One further performance, in November 2021, will be included in the programme of the Saint Petersburg International Cultural Forum, in which Austrian diplomats and cultural figures will be participating.
“Flora” is a series of musical-dramatical performances in the museum created by the German director Jacqueline Kornmüller on the basis of essays by contemporary writers inspired in turn by exhibits in the Hermitage. The project was supposed to have been realized in October 2020 but has been rescheduled due to current public health restrictions and the unfavourable development of the epidemiological situation.
